Spring 2024 Coven Boxes
Hello!
My deepest gratitude goes out to you for being a part of this Seasonal Herbal Coven. This group has been growing and evolving for 3 years now, with members all over the United States using the tools provided to nurture a connection to both the seasons as well as themselves.
You can use your tools whenever you like- Some folks use all of them together at once in the included rituals, others use them one at a time as they feel called to throughout the season. It's totally up to you.

Scroll down to see how to best use each item and how to perform their intended rituals. You may print them out or bookmark this page to refer back to later!

I hope you love everything in your box as much as I enjoyed making it for you.

Waxing Moon Bath Tea
A fully immersive way to invite spring’s renewing energy.
Energetically, Hawthorn is a deeply magical tree. Traditionally, Beltaine began when the Hawthorn blossomed around May 1st- giving it one of it's nicknames: the Maytree. It is the tree of the heart and is the classic flower to decorate a Maypole with. In Gaelic folklore, Hawthorn 'marks the entrance to the otherworld' and is strongly associated with the fairies.
Medicinally, Hawthorn is a tonic in the truest sense as one of our greatest & most specific allies in the fight against heart disease. Leaves, flowers, & berries have shown to improve circulation to the arteries that supply blood to the heart. It is also worked with for support through grief & heartache.
In this bath, Oregon wildcrafted Hawthorn and organic lemongrass energetically invite heart nourishment & brightening, while physically offering anti-inflammatory skin-calming benefits. A base of Epsom salts relaxes sore muscles while oats soothe & moisturize.

Spring Simmer Pot
Spring Renewal- Lemon, Rosemary, Lemongrass (not lemon balm per label)

Energetically cleanse your space and simultaneously fill it with the warming, invigorating aromas of the season.

As Winter melts away & Spring begins to emerge, our bodies begin moving outdoors again.
It’s not unusual to struggle with this shift in energy at this time.

When this happens: dump the entire contents of this pouch into a saucepan or crockpot full of water.
Turn the heat to Med-Low, & allow the aroma to fill your space,
Dispelling any dark clouds & invigorating our senses to begin our own Spring growth.

If you’d like to turn your simmer pot into a room spray:
-Chop the entire contents of the pouch
-Place them into a glass jar large enough that the herbs fill it halfway
-Fill the jar completely with vodka
-Place the lid on the jar and label it with the contents & date
-Shake it daily for 2-4 weeks
-Strain the contents using a coffee filter or cheesecloth
-Pour it into a spray bottle!

This can be used to bring the same energies to your space as the simmer pot, as well as for cleansing tools, surfaces, yoga mats, or as a hair mist. Will keep for 1-3 years if made & stored properly.

Inner Glow
Liver & Skin Support

These roots and spices have been traditionally used to fortify and support our own detox organs so that they can efficiently do their jobs- allowing us to glow from the inside out.
Everyday environmental stressors can lead to strain on our elimination organs, such as our liver, kidneys, lungs, and skin. While we don't likely need to "detox" or "cleanse" these organs, it is possible for them to be overworked and need a little extra support.

Because of the vital role these organs play across our entire body, sluggish elimination can have numerous seemingly unrelated downstream effects.

Inner Glow may be a good fit for those who:
-
Feel sluggish, tired, and fatigued constantly
-
Struggle with cystic and/or hormonal acne
-
Have irregular periods, PMS, or headaches
-
Feel nauseous after fatty meals
-
Battle heartburn, gas, indigestion, diarrhea, and/or constipation
-
Experience cravings and/or blood sugar issues

Inner Glow is likely not a good fit for those who:
-
Have diabetes or high blood pressure
-
Have gallstones or gallbladder inflammation
-
Suffer chronic GI irritation or inflammation
Tulsi Seeds
Grow your own Holy Basil

Tulsi, also called holy basil (or Tulasi in Sanskrit) is indigenous to India and highly revered for her medicinal value within the Ayurvedic and Siddha medical systems.
Daily consumption of tulsi tea is said to “prevent disease, promote general health, wellbeing, and longevity and assist in dealing with the stresses of daily life. Tulsi is also credited with giving luster to the complexion, sweetness to the voice and fostering beauty, intelligence, stamina and a calm emotional disposition.”
Numerous studies have been performed that verify what traditional healers have known for over 3000 years: Tulsi is a broadly acting adaptogen, helping our bodies adapt to stress and combat the diseases that come along with it. This stress can be physical, chemical, metabolic or psychological. Addressing underlying anxiety and depression, tulsi then goes on to have benefits on nearly every bodily system: cardiovascular, endocrine, nervous, respiratory, immune, and even musculoskeletal.
Hardy outside in USDA Zones 10 to 12, but grows very well as a potted plant if brought indoors for the winter.
Tulsi plants are very easy to start from seed: she is a light-dependent germinator, so scatter seeds on the soil surface after any chance of frost, press in, and keep evenly moist, in the light, and very warm until germination in a couple of days. Transplant or thin to 2 feet apart.
Harvest tulsi leaves and flowers by pinching off the stem just above a leaf node. This will encourage a bushier growth habit.

Consult an herb savvy doctor about taking Tulsi if you are pregnant, nursing, have a medical condition, or are on medications.

Eggshells
Free-Range Oregon-Raised
The egg contains 'all potential', full of promise & new life. It symbolizes the rebirth of nature, the fertility of the Earth, & all creation. In the contrasting egg yolk & egg white the 'cosmic' egg contains a balance of giving & receiving, light & dark, beginning & end, in perfect balance. This makes it particularly appropriate for the Spring Equinox, when all is in balance for just a moment. The underlying energy, though, is one of potential growth & expansion.

Here are just a few of the ways crushed eggshells can be worked with:
-Sprinkled outside your home for a protective barrier
-Blessing your garden for an abundant harvest
-As an offering of gratitude to the Earth
- Providing minerals to a potted plant
- Deterring slugs & snails with a dense layer around plants
- Casting a circle outdoors where salt will damage the Earth
-In protection spells
- Ground into a powder to draw sigils with your finger
- Powdered & added to water to paint sigils with a paintbrush
